SAND Server Status Guide

SAND: Raiders of Sophie is an online extraction game, so connection quality can affect whether a run is worth starting. This page is not an official live status page. It is a practical checklist for deciding whether a problem is likely your setup, a patch window, or a wider server issue.

Because Early Access games can change quickly, server checks should happen before high-value sessions. If the game has just updated, if many players are reporting issues, or if your crew has repeated disconnects, run a cheap test before carrying valuable loot.

Server Problem Checklist

  1. Check official Steam news or announcements for maintenance, patches, or known issues.
  2. Restart the game client after updates before blaming matchmaking.
  3. Test your local connection with a stable site or another online game.
  4. Ask whether all crew members have the same issue or only one player does.

Local vs Server Signs

Local issueOnly one player disconnects, other apps lag, Wi-Fi is unstable, or background downloads are active.
Patch issueProblems begin immediately after an update and appear alongside new notes or community reports.
Server issueMultiple crew members fail to connect or matchmaking behaves strangely for many players.
Route issuePerformance drops only in specific fights or locations, which may be graphics, effects, or local hardware.

Safe Raid Timing

If the crew is unsure whether servers are stable, do not start with a valuable Storm Dive. Run a low-value Voyage route, test Trampler movement, open and close inventory, enter a small fight, then extract. If the test route fails for technical reasons, the crew avoided losing a real run.

What Not to Do

Do not repeatedly queue expensive runs while the same disconnect pattern continues. Do not change DNS, drivers, router settings, and game settings at the same time. Change one variable, test, and write down what changed so the crew can make a clear decision.
